    Смартфоны серии A в металлических корпусах были впервые представлены в 2015 году и с тех пор переживают уже третье обновление: данная модель является старшей в третьем по счёту поколении, представленном, как говорит название, в 2017 году.

    Корпус аппарата выполнен в духе модели Galaxy S7, причём включая как внешний вид, так и полноценную герметичность, соответствующую классу водозащиты IP68. Внутри корпуса скрывается процессор Exynos 7880 с 8 ядрами, номинальной тактовой частотой 1 ГГц и 3 ГБ оперативной памяти; а собственный накопитель смартфона Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 увеличен вдвое по сравнению с предшественником — до 32 ГБ. Есть и слот microSD, причём отдельный от SIM-слотов.

    Отдельная категория пользователей, которые оценят данную модель — любители селфи: для этого аппарат предлагает фронтальную камеру на целых 16 Мп. Такое же разрешение имеет и основной модуль, а светосила f/1.9 упрощает съёмку при слабой освещённости. Ёмкость аккумулятора составляет 3600 мАч, для быстрой зарядки применяется технология Samsung Charge.
